Be Yourself
by Eric L.
Have you ever heard of someone eating Hershey’s chocolate with nacho cheese? I haven’t until I met Lucas P. He was born on September 10, 1996 in Guam. The last school he attended before coming to Moss was Lost River Elementary. He thinks school is “OK.” His worst habit is that he can’t stop laughing or talking. He likes any kind of modern music/bands.
He doesn’t have a favorite book. Lucas’s idea of relaxation is listening to music. One thing that really annoys him is people who ask stupid questions. His favorite school project so far is the balloon car project. The most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to him was in 2nd grade his pants fell down in front of everybody. The thing he likes most about himself is his personality.
Lucas thinks kids these days really need to be themselves. He also thinks that adults need to listen to other people. He sees the world in a positive way because he doesn’t think that is getting worse instead that it is getting better. Three adjectives that describe him are: outgoing, different, and funny. One thing that he has never done before that he would really like to try is scuba diving. He doesn’t speak any other language than English.
Lucas would really like to learn how to speak Guamanian because it is his home language. If he could live anywhere else in the world it would be Guam, where he was born. When Lucas gets older he would like to be a Graphic Designer. His family is fun and caring. In his spare time Lucas likes to listen to music or draw. If you want to meet someone who likes to “be themselves” then you should meet Lucas P.

A Girl Named Shelby
by Megan B.
Shelby B. is a simple kind of girl. She was born March 2, 1997, in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The last school she attended was Warren Elementary. So far, Shelby says school here is going “okay” for her.
Shelby says that her worst habit is playing with her hair. She says that she doesn’t have a favorite weird food combination. Her favorite radio station is “101.1,” which is a rap and R&B station. Shelby says that she doesn’t read much, so she doesn’t have a favorite book. Her idea of relaxation is talking on the phone with friends.
Shelby’s pet peeve is “pushy people”. She really hates to be pushed around by others. Shelby said one thing that she would really like to do one day would be diving. She also says that one day she would love to live in Alaska, because it’s different than other places. When Shelby grows up she says that she wants to be a doctor.
Shelby’s favorite thing to do in her spare time is hang out with her friends, and have a good time. When I asked her to complete the sentence, “I think adults today really need to…,” her response was, “be less controlling”. I think that most kids today would agree with Shelby’s response. I also asked her if she saw the world in a positive or in a negative light, she said “both,” because there are some things about the world that are positive, and some things that are negative.
So as you can see, Shelby is a pretty simple girl, but has dreams, and likes too have fun. I had a great time interviewing Shelby B.

Kaitlynn In Her Life
by Jason S.
Kaitlynn was born on September 16, 1996, in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The last school she went to was Bristow Elementary. She says that this school so far is okay. Her worst habit is being a pack rat. She doesn’t have a favorite food combination which I find very improbable, and that she listens to all kinds of music, from the punckiest Rock to the smoothest Jazz. The favorite book is, Where the Red Fern Grows. The thing that calms Kaitlynn down is to listen to music. The thing that annoys her the most is people that don’t know when to be quiet.
She claims that her favorite school project of all time is when she shadowed other people’s jobs. The thing that makes her sad is the fact that she is not able to see her father because he is constantly away. I have also been led to believe that she does not have a most embarrassing moment or worst time in her life, which can’t be true because there is an embarrassing moment for everybody. I have asked her to complete the following sentence and this is what she said, I think kids today, “really need to stay focused in school.” I have also asked her to complete this following sentence and this is what she said, I think adults today need to “watch the kids more.” She says that she has a positive and negative view on the world because there are a lot of bad people and some that are good. She described herself as pretty, smart and shy. She also says that one thing that she would really like to do that she hasn’t done is scuba diving. She does not speak another language fluently, but says that she wants to learn French because it would be interesting to learn.
Kaitlynn has said that if she could live anywhere else in the world that it would be Hawaii. I have asked her what she wants to be when she grows up, and she said that she wants to be a lawyer. She describes her family as crazy, but that they like to have a good time. And lastly, in her spare time she likes to read, listen to music, and shop.

Kind, Smart and Caring Drew
by Alex S.
Drew P. was born on August 6th, 1996 in Waterford, Michigan. His idea of relaxation is reading. His favorite book is The Chronicles of Vladimir Tod. The last school he attended was Bristow Elementary. He thinks of himself as kind, smart, and caring. Drew’s worst habit is biting his nails. The one thing that Drew has never tried, but would like to try, is skydiving.
He thinks of his family as caring. His pet peeve is people who are always talking. His best asset is his personality. So far, he thinks that school is boring. His favorite school assignment is anything to do with math.
In his spare time, he likes to get on the computer, and play video games. The hardest time he had in school was trying to pass the sixth grade. Drew speaks no other language but English. He would like to speak Spanish. This is because he would like to talk to other people who speak Spanish.
Drew thinks that kids today really need to grow up. Drew has a positive light on the world because the world has been through a lot of things. You should have a good view on the world because of that. In the future Drew wants to become a vet. He also would like to live in Paris.

My Other Half
by Jade T.
I’d like you to meet my other half, Jonecia B. She is the most unique person you will ever meet. Trust me, can’t nobody be like her. I have known her since the beginning of eighth grade. She is a good person to know. But she doesn’t like to hang around with that many people, including girls. We have similar things in common like friends and our love for coffee ice cream. She is a really cool person and you should get to know her and maybe you will think the same. She gets along with some people, but not all.
The last school she attended was Warren Elementary. She blows her candles out January 13, she was born in 1996 , raised in Kentucky and she lived in Louisville for a year . She thinks school right now has too much drama. Her worst habit is talking back. I have seen her do it and it has gotten her in trouble. Her favorite weird food combination is string cheese and cheddar sun chips. She lives with her mother.
Jonecia’s favorite type of music is rap. Her favorite book is Junie B. Jones. She likes to relax by sleeping. Her pet peeves are when people tap their fingers and liars. Her all-time favorite school project is none. The hardest time in her life was when her grandmother died. Her best asset is being loud. She thinks kids today need to stop with the drama and backstabbing and just be friends.
She thinks adults these days need too act their age and not their shoe size! She sees the world in a positive and negative way because it’s not just going to be positive and it’s not just going to be negative. The three adjectives she uses to describe he self are rude, loud and outspoken. She would really like to bungee jump because she’s never done it. She doesn’t speak any other language but English. She wants to learn how to speak French. She wants to live in Jamaica. Jonecia wants to be a therapist and help people with their problems. In her spare time she sleeps, eats, and texts. She says her family is very crazy and loud.

For a Pessimist, She's Pretty Optimistic
by Stanley L.
Anyone who sees this girl can automatically know who she is, Mackenzie L. This girl was born in a town called Birmingham, Alabama on May 12th, 1995. Her last school attended was Lost River, but the one she attends now is Moss (Obviously). Mackenzie loves Moss because she sees most of her friends here. If it wasn’t for this school, she and I wouldn’t even be best friends. She hates when people bug her by asking her pointless questions and has a weird craving for food, constantly. Anything she can get her hands on, she’ll eat!
This girl has been though A LOT; her mom is in Rehab (Hardest thing in life her she has to deal with), she’s been staying with friends back and forth because she didn’t have a home. Now, she lives with a friend, along with her brother and his girlfriend. The thing she likes most about herself is her blue eyes, which are a pretty crystal color. She sees the world very negatively because of all the cruel things she’s experienced in her life.
She loves rock and roll and techno music. If she had a choice she’d live in Germany and fulfill her dream in working as a Cosmetologist (Hair & Make-up). In her spare time, whenever she’s not by her friends, she enjoys sleeping, a lot. Mackenzie loves to spend the majority of her time with friends, without them she believes she wouldn’t be the person she is today. She’s an amazing friend and has always been there when people needed her the most.
In one word, she describes her family as, ‘‘Apart.’’ But she doesn’t let that get to her too much. She comes and goes but when she comes around she has nothing but high expectations.

Tamia loves her hair and skin color. She thinks kids should STOP the DRAMA and the adult should give their kids a little more space. She wants to live in Florida and be a pediatrician. She describes herself as short, loud and nice. Her parents are also loud. She uses her spare time texting, on the computer and talking on the phone. A tattoo is something that she has never tried and would really like to do. She really doesn’t like when people say something or tell something she didn’t say.

La Terial H. was born on June 1st 1996 in Bowling Green, KY. The last school she attended was Russellville Middle School, but for now she goes to Moss Middle School. She says she doesn’t like school.
Her worst habit is biting on her jaw. When I asked her what was her favorite weird food combination, she said, “ramen noodles with cheese, bacon, and hot sauce”. We like the same type of music, we both listen to 101.1 . She also doesn’t like to read, so she does not have a favorite book.
Her idea of relaxing is just watching TV. Her pet peeve is when people say things that she didn’t say. Her most embarrassing moment was, “when I fell in front of a boy that I like”. The thing she likes best about herself is her hair and her skin color. She thinks kids really need to stop getting pregnant. She thinks adults really need to start trusting their kids.
When she thinks of the world she thinks of it as a negative place because everybody is fighting. She describes herself as tall, funny, and nice. One thing she would really like to do that she has never tried is to get her belly button pierced. She does not speak another language fluently. But she would like to learn how to speak Spanish so when she travels she can understand what other people are saying. She would like to live in Atlanta, Georgia. She thinks Bowling Green is boring.
When she grows up she would like to be a massage therapist, or a pro basketball player. She describes her family as being loud, but they are liked by a lot of people and they speak their mind. In her spare time she likes to get on the computer and text people.

The Girl Who Eats Sausage with Chocolate
by Kassidy B.
Brittney is an 8th grade girl that likes to eat sausage and chocolate together. Think that’s weird? She was born December 9, 1994 in Rome. Not in Italy, in Georgia. Before coming to Moss, Brittney went to Rich Pond Elementary School.
Brittney and I agree on something: School is boring. Her worst habit is also the same as mine: Neither of us thinks before we speak. That definitely makes for some awkward moments. She likes all different types of music, especially country and rap. Her favorite book is Island Of The Blue Dolphins by Scott O’Dell. It’s a great book, you should check it out. Her idea of relaxation is soaking in a hot bath. Also, you shouldn’t smack your food when you’re eating around Brittney. It’s a pet peeve of hers.
What is her all time favorite school project or homework assignment? She doesn’t have one! “There hasn’t been one yet,” she says. The hardest time in her life is kind of private and she would not like to share it. It’s classified from one journalist to the next. The thing that she likes best about herself is her eyes. She has gorgeous brown eyes.
Brittney believes that kids today should be who they want to be, and adults today need to lighten up. She sort of sees the world in a negative light because of how people are polluting it. She would describe herself as bubbly, colorful, and more than a little country. Her dream is to meet a famous person. “I want to meet Kim Kardashian because she’s so dramatic!” Brittney said. She can also speak French and Spanish. Another place that she would like to live is in Italy or Germany, because her family is German and Italian food is really good. When Brittney grows up, she would like to be a cook or a chef. “I’m really good at making no-bake cookies.” She said. No-bake cookies ARE good. She would describe her family as crazy. In her spare time, she watches TV or listens to music. You should get to know Brittney, she’s really cool.

Robin G. in France
by Shelby G.
Robin G, a native Kentucky girl that was born on November 5th, 1995, right here in Bowling Green, dreams of skydiving. She says it would be really fun, which I understand because that’s who she is: a fun and bubbly person. As the youngest of six kids, she describes her family as fun, outgoing and different, but yet close. She last attended Warren Elementary… but she doesn’t like school or reading.
She would much rather hang out with her family and her friends, while listening to all kinds of music. As she tells me this, her brown eyes sparkle with laughter. Her eyes are also the thing she likes the most about herself. But she admits that one thing she doesn’t like about herself is that she bites her nails. Examining her nails, she tells me that she thinks kids these days really need to grow up, and adults need to have more fun. This self-proclaimed short girl sees the world as positive, because the world is happy.
Even though Robin G. doesn’t know what she wants to be when she grows up, she has already figured out that she wants to live in Paris and speak French. She hopes that as an adult she can still be able to have fun, sitting and relaxing in Paris, eating apples and peanut butter, and just watching the world.

Shelby G. was born right here in Bowling Green, KY, on March, 14th 1997. She is a seventh grader, she enjoys school, and she says, “It’s a place where I can come to get freedom.” The last school she attended before taking a step into middle school was, Auburn Elementary School in Logan County KY. She’s the type of girl who likes to relax in her room and listen to music. One of her favorite hobbies is reading, but she really doesn’t have a favorite book. People consider her to be a laid back kind of person, also quite tall. She thinks kids these days should really act right. She thinks adults need to lighten up because they’re too serious.
One thing that she would love to try is zip lining. When she gets older she would like to go in the photography business. If she could learn to speak another language it would be Italian. She would love to live in Italy, because she loves Italian food, but one of her crazy food combinations is popcorn chased down with orange juice.
One of her bad habits is biting her nails. Shelby loves her hair and her eyes. She would describe her family as really close and different. Her pet peeve is when people get mad at her for no reason. In her spare time she likes to hangout with friends and family, read and listen to music. One of hardest times in her life is when she moved from Auburn to Bowling Green. Shelby G. is a simple kind of girl.

Totally Jason
by Kaitlynn T.
Jason is a video game loving person. He is also very calm. He has a funny and active family. He was interesting to interview and I hope that you enjoy reading about him. Here we go!!!
Jason was born on April 5, 1996in Bowling Green, KY. He thinks of himself as a smart, funny, and calm person. Jason has a really bad habit of forgetting things. His idea of relaxation is playing video games. The thing he likes most about himself is his green eyes.
The last school Jason went to was Warren Elementary. As you all probably already know, he is an 8th grader here at Moss Middle School. Jason’s all time favorite school project that he has done is the science fair. He liked the science fair because there were so many things to do there. His most embarrassing moment was in the 4th grade. In the 4th grade he was bullied a lot. He says that it was pure torture and that he absolutely hated the 4th grade. When he grows up he wants to a computer technician.
Jason is really interested in the Asian culture. He does not currently speak a foreign language fluently, but he would like to learn how to speak Chinese. Jason said if he could live any where else in the world he would live in Scotland. Jason wants to go to Scotland because some of his ancestors are from there. Jason sees the world in both a positive and negative light. He said that there are a lot of bad things in the world but you also have to enjoy the little things in life. He thinks that kids today really need to stop bullying each other and that adults today really need to help their kids out more.
Jason’s pet peeve is being sick. One thing he would like to do that he has never tried is to beat up his sister. He wants to do this because he knew he would get in trouble if he actually tried. His favorite book is called Eragon. His favorite band is Avenged Sevenfold. In his spare time he plays video games, reads, draws, and gets on the computer.
So that’s it. This is all about Jason. Like I said, he was very interesting to interview. If you get the chance you should get to know him. I hoped you enjoyed reading about Jason.

The New Kid
by Conner D.
Her name is Debra and she was born on November 1996 in Valparaiso Indiana .She came to this school about a month ago and used to go to Willow Creek Middle School and says that she likes this school so far. She says that her favorite book is Breaking Dawn of the Twilight series and her worst habit is reading it too much. She has a favorite weird food combination that I have never heard of before. It is cucumbers with hot sauce and lemon juice spread on top of it. Now I don’t know if I would like it, but you never know, it could be really good!
Debra’s favorite artist is P!nk and her favorite type of music is pop. Her idea of relaxation is sleeping and her pet peeves are her little brothers because they get on her nerves. Her very favorite school project was when she had to make a science fair project in the third grade .She experimented with baking soda and vinegar.
She says that the thing that she likes most about herself is her eye color. She has beautiful brown eyes. She thinks that kids today really need to listen to authority and adults today need to see life from a kid’s point of view. She said that her most embarrassing moment was when she got sick in the first grade and her teacher talked about it for the rest of the year. She says that she sees the world from a positive light because the world is always changing in positive and negative ways. The three adjectives that she described herself with were shy, smart, and musical.
The thing that she really wants to do but has never tried is scuba diving. Debra does not speak another language fluently but if she did, she would want to speak French because she likes the way it sounds .The other places in the world that she would like to live in are in the United Kingdom, or Forks, Washington. She would like to be a surgeon. She described her family as artistic and said that some of them are hippies. She spends her spare time reading, watching movies, hanging out with friends, and playing softball.

Soccer Girl
by Brittney C.
If you all don’t know this girl you should meet her. I just met her and I think she is really cool, very funny and original. Her name is Kassidy .She was born August 26, 1997 in Rockford, Illinois; the last school this girl attended was Rich Pond. She believes school so far is ok.
Her worst habit would be not thinking before she says something to someone. Her weirdest food combination would be popcorn and hot sauce. Her favorite type of music would be alternative rock. Her favorite book would be The Hunger Games. Her favorite idea of relaxation would be playing soccer or Modern Warfare II.
Kassidy’s pet peeve would be random people asking for her number, hah.
Her all-time favorite school project would be none because she hasn’t had one yet. The hardest time in her life would be getting dressed or soccer practice.
She thinks kids today should stay the same. Kassidy believes that parents today should listen up. Kassidy sees things as they are and she’s not optimistic. Three adjectives that she used to describe herself were random, a gamer and sleepy. One thing Kassidy would love to do is sky dive. The language she can speak is Spanish but she would like to speak Italian. Kassidy would like to live in either Canada or Italy. Her future career would be a youth minister. When asked to describe her family, she says, “over dramatic”.

Sara J.
by Dayosha L.
Sara J is a girl I don’t know much about but will get to know. She’s a very smart girl, worrying about school and her studies rather than what the latest gossip is. Being a new kid at a middle school was hard for her, I’m sure. Meeting new people and making new friends is a challenge but you don’t meet many people that enjoy school like she does.
Sara came to our small city Bowling Green, from Riverside, California. That was a big change. Like I said, this girl loves her some school. The last school she attended was Warren East. Her all time favorite school project was her 5th grade school culture fair, she did Japan. In school she likes her Language and Reading classes because when she is older she wants her career to be in Writing, and she’d like to write Friction stories. That’s also what she does in her spare time, read and write. Her all time favorite book is the very popular series, Twilight.
Like everyone, Sara has a worst habit, and hers happens to be chewing her nails. She states, “I can never keep a manicure.” Her pet peeve is when people don’t listen or ignore her. We talked about the hardest time she has had in her life and that was when her grandmamma died, “from her mother’s side.” When we talked more about her family, she described them as crazy.
Everyone has a favorite weird food combination, hers is, fries with a frosty from Wendy’s. Wonder what that tastes like? The thing she likes most about herself is her hair. When Sara wants to relax, she loves to take a long bubble bath with, “vanilla scent bubbles.” She does not speak another language fluently but would like to learn Spanish. Have you ever wanted to live in an exotic place? Well Sara wants to live in Paris, how exciting. Her favorite color is purple.
Have you ever really wanted to do something that you have never tried? Well Sara wishes she would have hit that girl. I wonder what the story was there. I asked her if she could describe herself in three words, and she said, “Short, bossy, and a perfectionist.”
She also told me that she wishes that kids today would grow up, and that adults should loosen up. Sara said that she’s sees the world in both a positive and negative light. Because, the world is getting better but also because it’s hard being put down in the situation we’re in.

Laid Back in Kentucky
by Debra D.
Conner D. is very athletic, she loves sports! She was born on March 20th, 1997 in Kentucky. Conner describes herself as nice, shy, and smart because she is in pre-algebra. She also has one brother. She recently attended Rockfield Elementary. Now she currently attends Moss Middle School, she feels that Moss is, “as far as school goes, good.” She is in 7 Silver family here at Moss.
Here are some fun facts about Conner. She believes the weirdest food combination she has ever tried was pizza dipped in coke! She likes to lean back in her chair a lot, she considers that her worst habit. Conner likes to listen to country music; it’s her favorite genre of music. She doesn’t have a favorite artist though. When she likes to relax, she considers sleeping for the best relaxation. However, Conner isn’t relaxed when she hears scratching noses, that’s her pet peeve. In the spare time she has, she likes to hang out with friends, read (favorite books are The Twilight Saga), play with her dog, and watch television and movies! Her favorite thing about herself is her eye and hair color. She has blue eyes and blonde hair.
Conner doesn’t really have a favorite school project though. She’d like to play on a school team, she’s never done that before! Her most embarrassing moment that she’s had was when she was in the third grade; she almost walked into the boys’ bathroom! She thinks kids should try harder at school. And that parents need to understand that there are always two sides to every story. She sees the world in a positive way, but she doesn’t really know why.
Conner does not speak a different language fluently. She would like to be able to speak Bosnian fluently because most of her friends speak Bosnian. When she gets older she would like to become a veterinarian. Conner is a very unique person and seems to be very laid back.

Day in the Life
by Sara J.
Dayosha L. is a Bowling Green resident born November 21st 1995. The last school she attended was Lost River Elementary school. She says school is “ok”. Her favorite food combo is fries and vanilla ice cream. Her worst habit is texting too much. Be warned, food slobs are her pet peeve.
Her favorite type of music is rap. After a long day, she likes to relax by listening to music. Her favorite books are the Blueford High Series. She thinks her best asset is her hair. She would describe herself as annoying and short compared to her friends
In her spare time she likes to talk, text, and listen to music. She absolutely loves the color lime green. I asked this student to finish two sentences: “I think kids today really need to…” and “I think adults today really need to…” she responded with “I think kids today really need to grow up.” And “I think adults today really need to see life from their kid’s perspective.” Since she doesn’t speak a second language she would like to learn Bosnian because most her friends can speak it and she would like to.
She loves living here and wouldn’t want to live any were else. Something she really wants to do but never has is cliff jumping. Dayosha sees the world negatively because she sees all the hardship around her. She would describe her family as argumentative. When she gets older she wants to be a fashion designer. This has been a day in the life of Dayosha L.

Jade
by Shelby S.
Let me tell you about this new girl that I met, Jade, she’s in my first period class and likes to eat hot chips and pickles together. She was born on August 5th, 1996 and is originally from Oklahoma. Before coming to Moss, Jade went to a school called “Hefner”, and personally she thinks that school is boring and I can’t disagree with her on that. Like everyone, she has a bad habit, and hers is biting her nails. A favorite book, nah! She doesn’t have one.
A pet peeve of hers is when people don’t stop moving, they just keep on going and going. Many of you have heard of 101.1 the beat, which is her favorite radio station and plays types of rap. Her idea of relaxation?? Sleeping would be the answer. Like she said before, school is boring so she doesn’t have a favorite assignment or project, she doesn’t enjoy them. One of the hardest times for her was when her Aunt was diagnosed with cancer. One thing that Jade loves about herself is her hair, it’s long and black.
Jade see’s the world positively but she sees it negatively as well. Three words that Jade would use to describe herself would be rude , nice and unique. Don’t get the wrong idea, Jade is really nice. She just might have days where it’s just not a good day. Something that she has NEVER tried is jumping off a building and she would really like to try it but with soft things on the ground so when she jumps she won’t get hurt. Jade doesn’t speak another language besides English and would like to learn how to speak Spanish fluently. Besides living in Bowling Green, Jade would like to live in California. Who wouldn’t?
Jade is still young and has enough time to think about what career she would like to choose, but one career that interests her is being a lawyer. “My family? You could say that they are very loud,” she says. In her spare time she likes to go outside or text, like many kids do. I hope that helped to explain the new, nice, unique girl that I met in my first period class.

I’m going to tell you about a new person I met this quarter. Her name is Shelby and from what I can tell she is a very nice person. When I interviewed her she was quiet and polite but later on into the interview she warmed up. She seems like a nice person to get to know and be friends with and I would recommend her to anybody that likes to make friends or wants more.
She blow’s her candles out in May 19. She was born in 1997 in Kentucky. Her last school that she attended was Rich Pond Elementary. When I asked her how she liked school so far she said she doesn’t like it, it’s too much work. She said that her family is crazy and her worst habit is playing with her hair.
Her favorite weird food combination is pizza and ranch dressing. Her favorite Radio station is 101.1. She doesn’t have a favorite book. Her idea of relaxation is being lazy. Her pet peeve is when someone smacks on their gum. I asked her how she felt about the world. She sees the world in a positive and negative way.
She doesn’t have an all-time favorite school project. The hardest time in her life was when her great grandmother died. The thing she likes most about herself is her eyes. She thinks kids today really need to focus on school and, adults today really need to work or find jobs. The three adjectives that she thinks describes her best are nice, outgoing and short. The one thing that she would really like to do but has never tried is traveling. She would like to see the world. She doesn’t speak another language but, would like to speak Spanish. She would like to live in Texas. She would like to be a criminal defense lawyer, when she grows up. In her spare time she likes to hang out with friends, text, and sleep.
Doesn’t she sound like a good friend and a cool person to hang out with? I will be friends with her and maybe you should too.

Ketchup and Chips
by Drew P.
Alex was born in Bowling Green, Kentucky on May 15th 1996. Something I personally know about Alex is that she’s a twin. I know this because I am friends with her twin sister. The last school Alex went to was Rockfield Elementary. I asked Alex how she liked school so far and she responded by saying, “It’s okay.” She never told me why though. The hardest time in her life was when she was trying to do a school project. I also asked her to come up with one word that best described her family and she came up with nice.
Alex’s worst habit is yelling. A weird food combination that she has is chips with ketchup. Her favorite band is the Beatles. “My favorite book would have to be Eragon” she told me. That brings me to her idea of relaxation. Her idea is reading in a quiet place. One pet peeve Alex has is when people scream. Her favorite school project was and is making a power point. What Alex likes about her is that she is quiet. So, that pretty much sums up a little bit about Alex. If I were you, I would get to know her because she is a pretty cool person to talk to!!

Close Your Eyes and I'll Close Mine, Remember You, Remember Me
by Mackenzie L.
If you don’t know Stanley L, then you should, because he has gorgeous hair. He was born on September 24th, 1994 in Georgia. His idea of relaxation is listening to music. I bet he would be listening to The Used because that’s his favorite band. The hardest time in his life was January 10th, 2010. That exact day, he lost someone he may never get back. He has incredible friends that helped him through that hard situation. Stanley knows how to speak a lot of German. He’s still learning though. If he could, he would move to the Netherlands or Chicago.
When I had him describe his family, he said they were distant. I honestly can relate to that. When Stanley gets older he says he would like to have a career in piercing. He is like a pro at it already. He has spider bites, septum piercing, tongue piercing, and snake bites. He’s very mature than most kids his age. Another thing is that Stanley is one of my best friends. He is really fun to be around. When you’re feeling down or something he can always make you smile, no matter what. That’s why I love Stanley. He’s amazing.

A Kid Named Eric
by Lucas P.
Eric is a kind of a lone, yet interesting guy. He isn’t the “most popular” nor is he the “weird freak” that everyone hangs out with or hates. He is. however, someone you may want to know. This person likes to sleep and eat a lot but he’s not a couch potato. This interview should be of your interest.
Eric was born on June 21st, 1996. His birthplace is here in Bowling Green, Kentucky. He last attended Rockfield Elementary School. He doesn’t like middle school so far and his worst habit is playing way too much video games. His family seems a little annoying but sometimes fun in his opinion. He also fluently speaks Spanish, speaking in it constantly with his family.
Eric’s weird food combination is pizza with ranch. His hobby and idea of relaxation would be sleep, he also watches TV in his spare time. His current favorite band is “The Beatles” and no favorite book (he doesn’t read). His pet peeve is when his two sisters annoy him. Though he has a negative view on the world, he does have good plans for the future.
He says he would like to live in Mexico and wants a job as a carpenter. Eric believes his life will get better in time. He hopes to gain a very good relationship with his family and gain more trust with friends. This is what it seems anyways. He also thinks that kids today really need to listen to adults. He also thinks that the adults need to discipline their children more often, or in a way that teaches them a lesson. Eric is someone you just really should get to know so that he can gain more trust in people and maybe even become more optimistic about the world!!!

Megan :)
by Shelby B.
Megan was born in Bowling Green, Kentucky on July 22. The last school she attended before Moss was Lost River Elementary. She says school is okay so far. She’s always wanted to go scuba diving, and she likes to talk on the phone in her spare time.
Her worst habit is picking at her nails. When she wants to relax she hangs out with friends. Her pet peeves are when people act fake. She thinks that adults should be less controlling, and she sees the world in both a positive and negative light.
Her favorite book is The Lovely Bones, and she enjoys listening to the radio station is 101.1. The hardest time in her life was when her grandma died.
Megan’s future goals are to go to college to become a social worker. She would like to live in Hawaii, and even learn how to speak Spanish. One word to describe her family is, loud.

Banana Peppers!
by Heath K.
Zach P. is one crazy kid! He was born August 4th, 1995 in the Bluegrass state of Kentucky. He previously told me, “I like this year better because it’s gone faster than last year.” This is a quick interview that I did with him. I hope you enjoy and come back begging for more.
His worst pet peeve is when people don’t listen to him, which I’m sure gets really annoying. He will also eat banana peppers on nearly anything, which is definitely a unique feature. His favorite artist as far as music is Dr. Dre, which partakes in the Rap genre. His favorite book/series is The Guinness Book of World Records, which I also find rather interesting.
His idea of relaxing after a long day is to play games and go swimming, which might be hard now in the freezing cold. His favorite school assignment is nothing, yes, that’s right his favorite assignment is nothing because he doesn’t like school! His most embarrassing moment was once when he was out in public annoying his older sister and she threw a book at him and hit him in the face. Zach’s best asset in his opinion is his hair.
He feels that kids nowadays need to learn some respect, I agree with this one as well. He also feels that adults today need to grow up. He looks at the world in a positive light because he loves the world. He considers himself awesome, cool, and brilliant which I can agree with. One thing that he would like to do that he has never tried is skinny-dipping. When he said this, it made things quite awkward.
The only language that he speaks is English. However, he said that if there were to be another language that he would like to learn it would be Italian because it’s awesome. He would like to live in Italy and be a lawyer. Lastly he has a loud family which I would know about because I have known his family my whole life.

The Kid With The Glasses
by Manish B.
Have you ever eaten potatoes with chili? Well Hunter H. has, but he admits that this is weird. Hunter might have some interesting tastes, but he’s just like a normal kid, because he goes crazy for sugar. There’s a lot to know about Hunter, and here’s some facts about him.
Hunter H. was born on April 11, in Tennessee. After coming to Kentucky, Hunter went to Warren Elementary, and then came to Moss Middle School. Hunter has lived in Tennessee and Kentucky, but recently has gotten the urge to live in Greece.
Hunter enjoys when there’s no school, but thinks it’s all right. He loves to listen to rock music, but he makes time to read books, including his favorite, Eragon. People get annoyed when he shakes his leg, but he gets annoyed when people tap their pencils. He can’t speak another language, but he shows his wits, during his favorite Warren Elementary Indian history assignment, where he was able to replicate an average Indian home. During his spare time, Hunter likes to play with his pets, including a couple of dogs, a cat, and a hamster. He had a lot of spare time when a couple of trees, fell on his family car. During that hard time, Hunter had the support of his family, whom Hunter thinks of as really friendly, except for his brother.
Hunter’s future goals include learning how to speak Greek, trying to skydive, and becoming a biologist one day. Hunter wants a lot of things done to the world including, that kids should eat more sugar, just like him, and adults need to stop yelling at their kids. The world to Hunter is seen in a positive light, because there are no wars in the U.S.

Tayler H.
by Taylor C.
Tayler H. was born on April 7, 1996 in Ocala, Florida. The last school she attended was Heath Middle School in Paducah, Kentucky; she now attends Moss Middle School in Bowling Green, Kentucky. She dislikes school so far because there’s too much drama and fights over silly things. And, I agree with her.
Her worst habit is that she talks really loud, and I’m not going to lie, she does. Her favorite weird food combination, which is not weird at all, is mashed potatoes and peas. The type of music she likes is Rap. Her favorite book is Dairy Queen.
Tayler’s idea of relaxation is in being in her room listening to music. Something that really annoys her is when people stand over her shoulder. Her favorite school project was dissecting an egg. The hardest time in Tayler’s life was when her mom married a man that was abusive.
The thing Tayler likes a lot about herself is she is there for people when they need help. The adjectives she used to describe herself are, slow, talkative, and loud. Three phrases she used to describe her family are, lots of drama, loud like her, and not together. The career she would like to have is being an archeologist.

Mirriam H.
by Chelsea F.
Wanna catch a tone with Mirriam H? Her favorite kind of music is R&B. She loves Twilight. She was born at The Medical Center in Bowling Green, Kentucky on July 16 1997. Mirriam attended Warren Elementary last year. She said, “School can be boring at times.” I agree with her. Her worst habit is sniffing just the air.
Mirriam really doesn’t have a weird food combination, but said she “loves French fries and ranch.” Mirriam said her family is short, loud and tall. She thinks taking a warm bath is very relaxing. Mirriam hates it when someone stares at her. So don’t look at her long.
Mirriam said, “I think adults today really need to take a time out.” The career she has in mind is she wants to be a manager of some sort. In her spare time, she likes just getting out of the house and going somewhere.
She would like to live in Hollywood, California. She sees the world in a very positive light. In the near future, Mirriam would like to go swimming with the dolphins one day. She has a lot of things ahead her. I hope she will do all the things she wants to.

Little Miss Oshun
by Je'lyn P.
Well hello there, I am Je’lyn and I had a great time interviewing Oshun. I learned some interesting facts about her on various topics such as embarrassing moments, her family, and how she views the world today. Hopefully, you’ll learn something you didn’t know, because I know I did!
Little Miss Oshun was brought into this world on August 8th 1996. She’s lived here in Bowling Green, Kentucky all of her precious life and before her middle school days here at Moss, she attended Warren Elementary. She is African-American and Korean. When she described her family, she said “Well uhm, I have two brothers and one sister, all older than me. My family is very interesting. They are funny, creative and just very different.”
Okay, enough with her personal whereabouts, its time to get down to the good stuff. You know, like what she likes, dislikes, her hobbies, and whatever is next to come. To start off, her pet peeve (something that REALLY annoys her) “is when people put their gum on their cups or plates or something like that. “It absolutely bugs me!” Her worst habit is staying on the computer all day. Oshun views the world in a positive and negative light. She says this because “Adults are becoming bad influences to children causing them to do negative things. But also positive because people around the world are helping those in need.”
Let’s see what’s next for Oshun’s life. As far as careers go, she is undecided at the moment. But, she’s working on it. In the future, she sees herself living large in Los Angeles, California. She speaks little bits of Spanish, she fluently speaks (like as a main language) English. Although she would like to speak Korean so she can learn more about her heritage.
I guess this is it. I had fun interviewing Oshun. I learned some things that I didn’t know about her and that experience was really cool. Now you are informed about this girl and I guess that all you people out there need to know about her.

Had Big Goals But Everything Turned Out Great
by Chelsea L.
For two years I’ve had to put up with this lady, and let me tell you…that isn’t a bad thing. Her class isn’t that organized, but boy do we learn a lot. She’s honestly an inspiration to many people. Although she may be a little sassy, that’s just one thing that reminds me of, well…me. Who is this wonderful lady? Ms. Marsha K.
She was born in Nashville Tennessee, on May 5th. What year? Well, that is to be unannounced. She spent her last years of school, attending Western Kentucky University. No wonder she is a big supporter of the Hilltoppers. Her mother and father, raised her oh so very well. “Mom is my hero, if I have to say so myself,” says Ms. K. “They had three children, and did an absolutely fabulous job.”
I asked Ms. K. how she liked school so far, her smile went to a frown, which was something I didn’t expect. After spending some time listening to her story, I realized this: it is hard when you switch from seventh grade teaching, to eighth grade. Do you want to know something a little random? Her favorite weird food combination is bananas and peanut butter. Don’t say, “eww,” unless you’ve tried it! She may eat that while listening to classic rock, or reading her favorite book, To Kill A Mocking Bird. You know how I said she reminds me, of me? Well listen to this, her most annoying pet peeve is annoying people that ask or say an obviously stupid comment! Same as me!
Well as you already know, Ms. K. is a teacher. Although she already has a career, she still has a dream to be a famous writer. No wonder she’s a reading teacher. She would also love to go to Europe, which she is doing this summer! Way to follow your dreams Ms. K! What are some adjectives I can say about her? Well, carefree, emotional, and creative. That describes her pretty well! Okay, I think you all know Ms. K. If not, you’re missing out! Get to know her, you won’t regret it!!

Taylor C.
by Tayler H.
Taylor C. is a very determined girl. She has her goals set in life. Taylor is a well mannered person; she’s laid back and has a good personality! She’s the type of girl that you would want to be friends with!
Taylor was born May 16, 1997 in Bowling Green, Kentucky. She’s lived in Bowling Green, Kentucky all her life. The last school she went to was Warren Elementary School. She describes her family as a loud bunch, and she says that her family laughs a lot and they have a lot of fun.
Taylor’s worst habit is biting her nails. Her weirdest food combinations are mashed potatoes and corn. Her most embarrassing moment was when she slipped and fell at a bowling alley. I asked Taylor to describe herself in three adjectives and she said she’s nice, helpful, and loud. Her biggest pet peeve is when people talk loud when she is trying to sleep.
Taylor feels that kids these days need to listen to their parents more often and she also feels that parents need to discipline their kids more. Taylor sees the world in a negative way because people do terrible things and some don’t get punished for their actions. Something that Taylor would like to do that she’s never done before is trade places with her mom. In the future Taylor wants to go to college and become a teacher.

Angry Heath and the Throwing Things
by Zach P.
Angry Heath is a young tall, cool, skinny teen. He is also calm so he’s not very angry at all. That is until you make him angry. Angry Heath is a very easy person to get along with, because he doesn’t care what you look like or what you smell like. But he cares about how you act.
Angry Heath is a young teen that was born and raised in a small city in Bowling Green Kentucky called Rockfield. He was born on July 23 1996. He’s so hard to make angry because he’s cool, calm, collected and thinks about the situation he gets in before he acts. And he enjoys playing his gutar when he has spare time. But the only thing that can really make heath angry is when you take tings out of his hands. And when you do that he will throw something at you. So don’t make Heath K. angry.

Down to Earth Kayla
by Elma I.
Kayla was born on October 8, 1995 in Bowling Green KY. Her favorite book is Twilight. She likes the whole Twilight saga. Kayla likes watching movies with friends for relaxation. Her favorite weird food combination is pickles with peanut butter. She likes every type of music except jazz and old songs.
Kayla told me that her favorite school assignment was show and tell. She also said that the hardest time in her life was when her dad passed away. The three adjective that she used to describe herself was tall, bubbly, and funny. I asked her what she would like to do that she had never tried and she said that she would like to skydive.
Kayla said that she would like to learn how to speak German, because she is part German. She wants to explore that side of her heritage. She said if she could live anywhere else that it would be in Cheyenne, Wyoming. She said it is beautiful up there and a lot of room to ride her four-wheeler outside.
She hopes her future career is being a radiologist. She described her family as “not normal”. She rides her four-wheeler in her spare time. This future radiologist has her whole future planned out and she is ready to go nothing is stopping her.

Future Rock Star
by Kristina B.
Brad H. is a budding rock star and he is only 13 and in the eighth grade. He plays guitar and listens to AC/DC. His dream career is to play in a rock band. In his spare time he loves to practice the guitar. The one the thing he would love to do but never tried is crowd surfing. Crowd surfing is where you jump out into the audience and they pass you from person to person. He is a very energetic so if he does become a rock star, then he will have enough energy to run around the stage.
Brad is part Scottish so it only made sense when he said he wanted to live in Scotland. His family is very close. He described that when one of his family members got cancer some of his other family members decided to shave their heads too. Talk about family love!
One of Brad’s biggest pet peeves is when people are mean to other people. He said, “Even if I don’t know the person, I will still stick up for them.” Even though he is a very happy person now there was a time when he was unhappy. That was when his mother was diagnosed with cancer. That was the hardest thing that he has ever gone through. Fortunately she recovered and everyone is back to being happy again.

Musical Miranda
by Marina Z.
Miranda E. is an “innocent” person, who is a bit quirky. But, even though she’s not exactly “normal”, she’s still a good person. She loves “punk” music, sticks up for herself 100%, and never gets pushed around.
She was born October 13th, 1995, in Kansas. The last school she attended was Alvaton, or, “opossum kingdom”; its unique nickname thought of by her. As I said, she is quirky, but everyone is, in someway; some more than others. But, if no one was quirky, than they would all be identical robots, and I bet robots don’t like pasta and Christmas cookies (together), like she does.
She loves “punk” music, MRR Radio, classic rock, and likes a lot of bands, such as the Beatles, and Crass. Her favorite books are between On the Road. Sid Vicious, or Johnny Rotten Bio. Her idea of relaxation is, surprisingly normal; she sleeps, and watches T.V. Her pet peeves are: stupid, ignorant people, and country music. (It’s a good thing she lives in the South.) She sees the world in a negative light, because “some people are so dumbed down; they’re always so happy.”
She is currently learning Italian, but she’s not 100% fluent. She’d like to live in either: Ireland, Japan, or Holland. The career she wants to have is a Musician, or a psychiatrist. She said her family is similar to the Simpsons, so it must be fun

Fun Loving Elma
by Kayla S.
Elma is an amazing person! Elma is tall, outgoing and funny! Elma has an awesome personality. She can always make someone laugh when they are down. Elma was born February 17, 1996 in Bosnia. She has a different kind of personality. Everyone is different in his/her own way, and I think one of Elma’s ways of being different is her favorite weird food combination. When I had asked her that, her eyes got so big and she had this smile on her face. Elma loves Oreos with peanut butter, marshmallows, chocolate chips and fudge. When she told me that all I could say was, “oh my!” How can someone even come up with the idea of all those foods put together to make a snack?
After we talked about food, we got on the topic of school. I found out that Elma’s last school was Richpond Elementary School. Then we talked about how much we like the school year so far. She likes school, but thinks it’s a little boring. Her response didn’t surprise me, most kids would say that school is boring or they don’t like it because they all think it takes time out of their day or they don’t like it because they get homework.
When Elma is listening to music, you can hear R&B playing and at moments, you can hear her favorite singer, Beyonce. When Elma wants to relax, you can find her watching TV with a bowl of popcorn in her lap. But, don’t interrupt her when she is doing something because that annoys her. As you can tell, Elma is an amazing person, but with a bit of weird side with those crazy food combos.

Manish B. -Scientist or Skydiver:
by Hunter H.
Do you want to be a scientist? Do you want to be a skydiver? Well, Manish takes it to the next level by being a skydiving scientist.
Manish, born March 18, 1997 on a little island called Saint Martin, just came to his new school at Lost River Elementary. He has lived in India and now Kentucky with his mom and dad. He enjoys rock music, school, being on his computer, and eating potatoes with rice and lentils.
Manish admits that his worst habit is shaking his leg and he hates it when people ask him for stuff. His idea of relaxation is to read a book when it’s quiet. He speaks two different languages, English, of course, and Hindi. He’s recently read a series of books but his all-time favorite is Chasing Veneer. He thinks that he is smart, responsible, and friendly. Manish thinks his family is fun to be around, except when they yell! Sadly, Manish has only his mom and dad because his baby brother died before birth.
Manish’s favorite school project was an essay on World War II. He thinks his best asset is being smart. He thinks kids should get more vacation time, while adults should stop yelling at kids. He sees the world in a positive light, but only because good things always happen to him.

Intellectual Insight
by Miranda E.
Marina Z. is a highly interesting character in the 8 Silver family, at HFM Middle School. An exceedingly quirky girl, some would describe as mysterious. But to those of us that know her, she is a good, intelligent and amusing individual. A generally quiet person, Marina can be insanely patient. She always seems to be informed about incidents going on around her, more so than others. Marina always has her own opinion, and is never influenced by others.
She was born January 8th, 1996 in Ukraine. Marina was four years old when she came to the United States, and only remembers a Mcdonald’s toy, which later, went astray. One thing that sets her apart from most Kentuckians is that she can speak Russian, though not fluently. The last school she attended was Warren Elementary.
Her general interests include Manga, and listening to music, preferring the ‘Black Veil Brides.’ She says that music is the best way to relax. In Marina’s spare time, she enjoys playing Mana Khemia 2, and fully endorses/recommends the game, saying a “Splendid occasion is guaranteed by each and every one.”
In the future, Marina hopes to be a psychologist living in Japan. But in the meantime, she will continue reading Manga, and listening to music. As usual, she leaves an intellectual comment “I think kids today really need to be nice.” She is apathetic concerning the future, and has no particular hopes. You can always count on Marina to make a comment so full of optimism and sunshine.

Blonde Diva
by Mirriam H.
Chelseann was born as a diva on November 19, 1995, in Lansing, Michigan. She grew up to be the only blonde headed girl in her family but that doesn’t bother her.
As a little girl, Chelseann attended Warren Elementary but now she is older so she attends Henry F. Moss Middle, but she thinks its boring there. During classes, Chelseann makes noises because she can’t help it, it’s her worst habit.
Chelseann is a person that sleeps for her relaxation but before she can relax, she would read her favorite book, Miles To Go, by Miley Cyrus and eat her weird combination of food, popcorn and M&M’s instead of being bored at school. She thinks of the world in a positive light because there are so many lives in this world.
In the future, Chelseann sees herself as an actress in Hollywood, CA Chelseann is a confident young lady, she likes everything about herself and she is bubbly, loud, and confident blonde.

Randomly Je'lyn
by Oshun F.
Je’lyn was born on February 21st, 1996 in Bowling Green Kentucky. The last school she attended was Warren Elementary but she currently goes to Henry F. Moss Middle school. “School is interesting” is how she responded when asked “How do you like school far?” She also says that “People learn things in school that they shouldn’t, such as personal issues that need to be kept to themselves.”
Je’lyn has two sisters that are both younger than she is. She is very close to all her aunts and cousins. She says, “We try to stay strong during hard times but whatever happens, it happens for a reason.” As you can tell, she really loves and cares about her family. Je’lyn picked three adjectives that describe her, which were random, tall, and trustworthy. As her best friend, I agree with these adjectives very much because I have been around her long enough to recognize them.
What I found very interesting about Je’lyn is that she likes pizza and honey… together! I don’t ever think I will like that, but it’s interesting. Something that really gets on her nerves is misspelled words. UGH! She hates that, it’s her pet peeve. “Misspelled words really bother me so much,” Je’lyn says. She goes for any type of music. She has no specific preference. Her worst habit is standing up with her legs crossed. She does that ALL the time. She is trying to stop.
Something a little more serious is that Je’lyn has had a hard time dealing with her grandmother having cancer. She doesn’t have cancer now, which is a really good thing. Her idea of relaxation is, “chillin’ in the hot tub,” but she says since she doesn’t have one, it’s sleeping. I can relate to that. Her favorite book is Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson. “I like that I’m me,” is what Je’lyn likes about herself.
She thinks kids today really need to behave and listen to adults. As for adults, she thinks they need to monitor what their children are doing. Something Je’lyn would like to do is go on a road trip without knowing where she was going. She has never done that, but would like to. She knows a little Italian, which is interesting, but she doesn’t speak it fluently. A phrase she knows is, “piacere di conoscerla,” which means pleased to meet you. She would like to speak it fluently though because she likes the language and culture. In her spare time, she likes to hang out with friends, text, and go on the computer.
Well that’s about it about this random girl Je’lyn. If you were interested in this interview as much as I was then you should take time out to get to know her. She is a great friend and person. (:
Je’lyn has two sisters that are both younger than she is. She is very close to all her aunts and cousins. She says, “We try to stay strong during hard times but whatever happens, it happens for a reason.” As you can tell, she really loves and cares about her family. A Social Butterfly
by Tayler H.
Chelsea L. is a very talented girl, she’s very out going, she speaks her mind and is always there for her friends! Chelsea is the kind of person who knows what she wants in life, and she knows what she wants to do with her life. She sets her goals and goes for them!
This social butterfly was born October 30, 1995 in Louisville, Kentucky. The last school that she attended was Lost River Elementary. Chelsea says that she doesn’t like school at all so far because everyone has changed, but not for the better. Chelsea’s all time favorite school project was last year when she did a science fair project, she says it was her favorite because she got to eat all of the popcorn. Chelsea’s says her dad is the head of the household. Their ethnic background is Cherokee and Blackfoot Indian. Her mom is like a teenager, and her sisters are hard to please but easy to get along with.
Chelsea’s worst habit is biting her nails. Her weirdest food combination is syrup and peanut butter. Uhmm, sounds delicious! She likes to listen to rock and her favorite band is Paramore! She doesn’t really like to listen to the radio she says because of all the commercials. Her favorite book is Oh My Goth because she feels like she’s in the book. To relax herself she likes to swim or go to the ocean. Her biggest pet peeve is when people consider her prep, she states, “I play basketball, skateboard, and play guitar, and I’m prep?”
Chelsea’s most embarrassing moment is when she fell out of her chair during CATS testing and it was really quiet so it was loud. She says her best asset is that she’s a social butterfly and very caring. She says she caring, wild, and mature. Chelsea sees the world in both a negative and positive light because people try to fix their problems but most of the time when they do it just makes them worse.
Chelsea thinks that kids these days really need to grow up, and stop dating everyone, they’re all worried about relationships and drama. She says that parents these days really need to stop letting their kids control them. Two things that Chelsea really wants to do that she’s never done is jump out of a plane and go skinny dipping. Chelsea wants to be either a model, a marine biologist, or a photographer.

Reading, Aquatic Animals and Avenged Fold
by Bradley H.
Born on May 13th, 1996, Kristina is a very smart person. I’ve been told tons of times that reading books is a large contributor to intelligence. If that is so, then her favorite book, Breaking Dawn, must have a lot of pages. To relax, she listens to music, from bands like her favorite, Avenged Sevenfold. She thinks of herself as short, energetic, and happy.
Kristina looks at the world in a positive way because she likes to be happy. To her, kids need to shut up and adults need to grow up. She doesn’t speak any language other than English, but if she could, she would like for it to be one that only she understands. If she could do anything that she has never done before, she says she would like to skydive. Her choice of living anywhere in the world would be in the Bahamas. Her favorite asset about her is her hair, but her worst habit is making weird facial expressions.
The career of her dreams would be to work with killer whales and dolphins, The thing she dislikes most, is being annoyed or ignored. The last school she attended was Chandler’s Elementary School, and this year, she finds school to be interesting. Kristina herself is very interesting, and a great person to be around. That’s why interviewing her was fun.

A Different Outlook on Life
by Gretchen M.
Welcome aboard everyone. We are about to fly through the world of Kim T., don’t forget to strap your seat belts! I hope you enjoy this ride because it’s going to be a good one! 5…4….3…2…1 here we go!
Kim entered this world on January 7th, born in the town of Winchester, Kentucky. She attended the School of Western Kentucky University. Kim’s worst habit is drinking diet coke, I see why, diet coke can be addictive. Her weirdest food combination is steak and ketchup, yum.
We all have favorite bands, singers and types of music. Kim’s choice of band was Guns and Roses, what a great band. Her favorite book is In Cold Blood by TrumanCapote; I bet that’s a suspenseful thriller. Kim has a country side to her as well, she loves to fish. Fishing is one of Kim’s ideas of relaxation, what a great way to relax.
Don’t we all have some little thing that really annoys us? I sure do. As you all know, Kim is a teacher and one of her worst pet peeves is when someone is talking while she’s talking, that’s one way to get on someone’s nerves. Have you ever had that one homework assignment you just love to do? One of Kim’s favorite homework assignments is creating a blog.
Have you ever had one of those embarrassing moments? Or was it just one of life’s rough patches? Which ever it was, one of the most unfortunate times in Kim’s life was her divorce. We all have that one thing that makes us stand out, that makes us all different from one another. Kim’s special talent is her creativity. What a great talent that is.
We all have different opinions, or different outlooks on life. Kim thinks kids these days should have fun and the adults should just lighten up, I for one agree with her opinion. All of us see the world differently, either positively or negatively, but Kim looks at the world in a positive light because, “we are all living on this earth together and we have to make it a better place, together.”
Everyday we find different ways to describe ourselves, such as wild, fun or annoying. Kim describes herself as quirky, inquisitive and fun. Those all sound like great descriptions to me. Favorite dream destination? When asked, Kim said she would like to travel to Italy. Who wouldn’t want to go there?
Do you speak another language? When asked, Kim said no but she speaks a little French and Spanish. Since she doesn’t speak any other language fluently, she would like to speak Italian. Kim lives in the state of Kentucky, but she would like to live in Barbados.
All of us want to grow up one day and have a successful career; Kim is a teacher at Henry Moss Middle School. She would also like to be a veterinarian. You can tell she is a true animal lover. When asked to describe her family she said she had the “Brady Bunch.” She has three step children, three children, a step cat, three real cats and a husband. What a large family! In Kim’s spare time, despite enjoying time with her family, she likes to work out, read, fish and watch college sports.
Welcome back everyone. I hope this journey has had some effect on your life. It might have opened a new musical doorway, brightened your view on life, or gave you some new great ideas of relaxation. I hope you enjoyed this flight but its time to go home. Buckle up everyone. 5…..4….3…2….1 here we go!

by Matt V.
Gabbie W.
Have you ever heard of the food combination of French Fries and Ice Cream? Well, Gabrielle W. actually likes to eat it! Gabby was born on May 30, 1995 at the Greenview Hospital. The previous school she attended was Rockfield Elementary. Gabrielle said, “School this year at Moss is boring.”
The most embarrassing moment in Gabrielle’s life is when she fell down at one of her dance recitals. Gabrielle has a bad habit of chewing her finger nails. Gabby’s favorite type of music is hip hop. Her favorite book that she has read is Gathering Blue. To relax herself, she whistles. Gabrielle’s favorite project for school is making a volcano because it explodes.
Gabrielle thinks “kids today should read more” and “adults should have fewer rules.” Something that Gabby wishes she could do is go sky diving. She speaks French some and wants to live in Paris, France because it is a gorgeous city and has lots of great sites. Gabrielle wants to be a lawyer when she grows up.

A Different Kind of Country
by Julia G.
Gretchen M.
You are about to see what life is like for this average teenage girl. As an 8th grader at Moss Middle School, Gretchen M. is a different kind of country. She loves to play the Wii and enjoys listening to good ol’ country music!
Born at TJ Sampson Hospital, in Glasgow Kentucky on July 17, 1996, Gretchen is just a normal teenager. Before she came to Moss Middle School, she went to Metcalfe County Middle School in Edmonton, Kentucky. Right now, she says school is okay. She said that she hasn’t really had a “favorite” school project yet. If she had to pick what kind of homework she likes to do, it would be reading. She said that her absolute favorite subject is P.E. Just like any other normal teen, Gretchen has embarrassing moments. Once, she ran into someone on accident, then they hit the door, and their head popped back and hit Gretchen in the face!! Ouch!
Gretchen is a very talented athlete! She loves to play basketball, run, and play the Wii and text with her friends. She thinks that kids today need to play more sports, and that adults need to quit bugging their kids! Gretchen describes herself as “kinda smart, different, and athletic.” Her favorite food is sirloin steak, but one of her favorite weird food combinations is ice cream and fries!!! Yummy! She says that her worst habit is making her mom mad, but her pet peeve is her brother. “My family is annoying, but caring,” she told me. “I have two brothers and one sister.” Gretchen loves listening to country music, such as Jason Aldean. When she’s had a long day, she likes to relax by getting some sleep. Her best asset is that she is short and she loves the Twilight series.
Now it’s time to think about the future…If Gretchen could live anywhere else, where would it be? “Japan,” she said. “I also would like to learn how to speak Japanese since I plan to live there someday.” When she grows up, she would like to become a chiropractor, because she likes helping people.. Something that she would love to do that she’s never tried? SKY DIVING!!! Gretchen told me that she sees the world in a positive light. “Nothing really bad has happened to me yet.”
I hope you have learned a little more about Gretchen. She is just a normal teenager, but a different kind of country.

His idea of relaxation is watching TV and lying down. His pet peeve is when people whisper. His favorite project in school was when he was in kindergarten and they used play dough. His most embarrassing moment was when he was at Lost River and he tripped over a chair in front of the whole class. Dashiell thinks that his best asset is that he is funny. Dashiell looks at the world in a negative way because of all the axe murderers and the thieves and the child abusers. Three words that explain Dashiell are short, athletic, and strong. The one thing Dashiell would like to do would be on a basketball team and he would like to learn Spanish because it’s a cool language to learn.
Dashiell would like to be a lawyer when he grows up because he would like to represent people and he thinks that he can keep the bad guys in and the good guys out of jail.He thinks that his family is crazy and that’s the reason that he thinks that they are so crazy. Dashiell’s favorite thing to do in his spare time is to play sports because he loves the adrenaline rush and having his blood pressure rise.
Quiet Girl Likes To Be Loud With Her Thoughts
by Chelsea S.
Jordan S.
A wonderful daydreamer was born in Bowling Green, Kentucky on November 8, 1996. Previously, Jordan S. attended Rockfield Elementary and is now a 12- year old seventh grader at Henry F. Moss Middle School. Let me tell you, Jordan is one amazing kid once you get to know her. Let me explain a little more about this friendly and out of this world rocker.
Jordan lives with a family of six where each and every family member is different, but at the same time her family is pretty close. Jordan has some unique characteristics about herself. You see, the thing she likes best about herself is that she is very creative. She describes herself as polite, but shy. On the other hand, a habit Jordan admits she has is that she has a short-attention span. Jordan’s favorite band is Journey and her favorite genre of music is rock. Also, her idea of relaxation is watching television and in her spare time she often likes to daydream. Daydream? Yes, daydream. When Jordan daydreams she uses her imagination and her open mind. She is an adventurous young lady!
Although Jordan has some unique characteristics, she also utilizes her own opinions. First of all, Jordan sees the world in a positive light because she doesn’t think God would make it bad. She thinks kids today should be more polite and adults need to be more trustworthy. Jordan’s pet peeve is when people “text talk” and say things such as “OMG!” Jordan would really like to travel and see the world. When Jordan was asked what language she would really like to speak fluently she said, “I would like to speak French because people use it in many countries.” However, when Jordan was asked where she would like to live she replied with, “I would like to live in Ireland because I have many ancestors there.” One last little thing you might like to know about Jordan is that her favorite school project was a power point where she had to teach younger kids about math. In spite of this, she would really like to be a designer when she grows up. Isn’t that neat? Jordan is one outstanding kid!

Baker W.
Baker W. was born and raised right here in Bowling Green, Kentucky, on April 25, 1997. Last year, he went to Lost River Elementary, but now he’s a Moss Dragon. This dragon likes listening to all types of music and sleeping a lot. One time he even slept until 2 o’ clock in the after noon! He doesn’t like mean teachers, and now that we’re talking about school – he had an embarrassing moment once when his pants fell down in class. Wow, talk about awkward. He said all the girls were staring and laughing at him.
One day he would like to be able to fly like a bird. Wouldn’t that be cool? He also thinks that kids and grown ups alike should not do drugs and if they are or have, they should stop. He describes himself as tall, cool and awesome. One day he would like to live in Florida and learn to speak Spanish so he can talk to and understand Spanish-speaking people. When he is older, Baker wants a job that pays a lot (so does everyone else). He loves his family and thinks their “super awesome”. In his spare time he sleeps a lot add I mean a lot.

Style on the Rise
by Shelby B.
Josh C.
Born February 26, 1997, Josh Caudill is a very interesting and stylish person. He’s very good at skateboarding and enjoys messing with his hair, even if it is his worst habit. He previously attended Warren Elementary and so far, says school is going “okay.”
His best attribute is his style and when he grows up he wants to be a dolphin or an entrepreneur. If you wanna buy this kid a CD, I suggest some kind of hardcore, metal, or screamo band. Josh’s Pet peeve is when people mimic his hair move or tell him to cut his hair.
When asked what people need to do more of these days he said that adults need to stop being so strict and kids need to get and express more freedom. This kid sees the world in a very positive light and says that it’s because “the world is full of beauty.”
If we were to describe Josh in three words they would be short, random, and nice. He said that one thing he really wants to do is to jump off of a high cliff into deep water, “’cuz shallow water would hurt.” One place he really wants to live is Oklahoma. If he could, he’d also like to learn Spanish because he thinks that people that talk in Spanish around him are confusing and he’d like to understand what they are saying.
When asked to describe his family, Josh said the three words that would work best would be caring, nice, and friendly. And I think I’d say the same about him as well.

Annoyed Musician
by Jarius B.
River B.
River B. is an annoyed musician who was born on January 24 1996 and is 13 years old, or is he? His favorite book is Hatchet. For fun, he sits around playing his Les Paul guitar. He hates it when people get mad about paying small amounts of money for small items. He says kids today need to listen to better music. He also says parents need to spend more time with their kids.
Something that he would like to do but never tried would be to hang out with Pete Townsend, a famous musician. He would like to speak Japanese so he could yell at Japanese people. He says his family is dysfunctional, WHAT IS WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE? He would like to live in Boston, Massachusetts with those stinky Red Socks. He likes to play the guitar and wants to be a musician when he gets older.
Yay, rock the house!

Bananas and Peanut Butter
by Cedric B.
Callie C.
Bananas and peanut butter may be something you would never eat together. But for this 13 year old teen it’s one of the best combinations ever. On March 26, 1996 in Bowling Green, KY, Callie C. was born. Callie attended Rich Pond Elementary in Bowling Green.
In her free time, Callie enjoys listening to music. Her favorite type of music is rap. Callie is also a girl that is very close to her family. She describes herself as talkative, wonderful, and loving. Her dream place to live is Hawaii, while in Hawaii she would like to go parasailing. One of Callie’s pet peeves is people who talk while others are talking. Her idea of relaxing is taking a nice long nap.
Callie thinks school is only “okay.” Her bad habit in school is talking. Her
favorite book is Number The Stars. After she gets out of school, Callie wants to be an athlete. Callie’s favorite school project was dissecting a sheep’s eye. Although Callie doesn’t speak any other language, she likes speaking English because most people here speak it.
Callie says that she likes being taller than most of the 8th graders. She also says the hardest time in her life was when her parents divorced. But this hasn’t stopped the way she thinks about her family. She says kids should stop wanting so many things. But Callie also thinks that parents shouldn’t be so strict. She also sees the world positively because she says that she doesn’t like to think of the world in a negative way.

Dangerous Gamer
by River B.
Jarius B.
Jarius, don’t jump off the roof! Jarius B. was born April 24th, 1997 in Bowling Green, Kentucky. From Rockfield Elementary, Jarius is a serious gamer and a serious football advocate. He also seems to not be easily embarrassed. ”When I was five, I was at the park getting chased by a duck,” he said in the interview. He seems to think the world is going to get better. ”I think the world is doing well because it’s growing.”
Besides being an extreme gamer, he’s extremely insane. “I’ve always wanted to jump off of my roof on my bike”. He seems smart, behind the dangerous mind. He’s able to play video games without reading the instructions, making Jarius seem studious. This might be the reason he likes classic rock, including Aerosmith. Kids nowadays listen to good music less than Joe Biden appears in the news.
Lastly, in the interview, Jarius set out to make a point about kids and adults. “I personally think that kids should have more fun and parents should get their kids more stuff for Christmas,” (Someone didn’t get the pony and the space shuttle for Christmas last year.)
After the interview, Jarius was polite and courteous, proving that not all kids are raving lunatics or annoying.

An Interesting Life
by Solomona G.
Julia G.
“It’s O.K,” she replied when she was asked how her first day of school was at Moss Middle School. “It’s way different than elementary school. I enjoy swimming and listening to music more of course. School can be cool at times though.”
Over the summer, Julia G. she spent her time swimming, and she was a part of a swim team called the “Southland Sharks.” “I loved it,” she says.
From acting in plays at the Public Theatre of Kentucky to mummifying a chicken in the sixth grade, Julia has done many things that you may consider “interesting” but she considers it to be “usual.”
Born November 12th 1996, a native Kentuckian, she enjoys acting, swimming, playing outside and chatting with Friends on Face Book. Julia also enjoys reading.
“Acting makes me feel confident. I’ve been acting since I was nine,” she says. “Swimming keeps me occupied and in shape.” She also wants to speak French, live in Italy, and go scuba diving. “Why do you want to go scuba diving?” I ask. Julia replied, “I’m sure I’ll enjoy the scenery and swimming with the fish of course.” Why French? “I just think that it’s cool!”
O.K. now we know about some of Julia’s favorite things to do, but I’m sure you want to know about what she dislikes, right?
Pet peeves? “I hate it when people talk to you like you’re a baby. It just irritates me. I’m kind-of like a fast person, and I feel that if people treat me like I’m a baby, it just slows me down.” I’m sure everyone understands that. I think that the point of this statement is quite obvious. To move forward, you can’t be treated like you’re in the past. Understandable.
As you can see, Julia has a mixture of thoughts, interests, opinions, goals, and habits. Odd, but interesting. Different, but appropriate. To understand someone, you have to get to know them and interviews are just the ticket to that understanding.

Look Out World

Chaz B.
Charles “Chaz” B., Born November 3rd, 1997, this child is an ingenious mastermind, just waiting to be unleashed on the world. Now, you may ask why I say this. It’s quite simple, really. Coming from Rockfield Elementary in his previous school years, this really doesn’t surprise me. He describes his family as “nuts” and himself as irritating, crazy, and smart.
In his spare time he enjoys lying on his bed throwing magnetic darts at anything and everything that enters his room while listening to his favorite music, metal and techno. I do not recommend getting on Chaz’ nerves, for he seems to have a bit of a temper. Ways to avoid this are by not using an odd accent for a long period of time, not being bossy, and not being “stuck up.”
In a recent interview, I managed to ask Chaz a few questions, and got back very interesting answers. His very worst habits, he said, were tapping a pencil or clicking a pen. His weirdest food combination would have to be a fudge round with “sour goo” on top, eaten with fruit punch. When asked what kids need to do more of he said, “Get a life.” When asked what the adults needed to do he said, “Read more.”

Soccer Stephany
by Naida G.
Stephany G. was born in Nov. 26 1995 in Guatemala. She doesn’t like school much and the last school she attended was Warren Elementary but she now attends Moss Middle School.
Her worst habit is chewing gum and she likes rap music. Her favorite book is Twilight and her idea of relaxation is eating ice cream in a warm bath tub. She hates when people talk about her. Stephany says her favorite experiment was last year when she got to make lip gloss, cool!!
Stephany also is on the soccer team at Warren Central and she is really good. Her most embarrassing moment happened on the field when Stephany got pantsed!!!!!!!!!! (meaning someone pulled down her pants) Her hardest moment was when she found out that her parents were getting divorced. Stephany loves her hair, it’s really curly I wish I had curly hair.
She also thinks kids should have more freedom and to explore the world and she says adults shouldn’t get so caught up in work. Stephany looks at the world in a positive way because there are a lot of good things in the world. Stephany describes herself as a athletic, outgoing, and smart. One thing that Stephany would like to try is bungee jumping (sounds fun).
She also cans speak Spanish but she wants to learn French and she also would like to live in France too. She says she wants to be a lawyer no kidding she wins every argument on our bus. Stephany would describe her family as really outgoing, have anger problems, and are also very happy. In her spare time Stephany says she likes to play soccer, text/talk on the phone and just loves to be around her friends.

Typical, Normal Naida
by Stephany G.
She’s a girl with lots of attitude, stands up for herself when people call her short, she’s athletic, and funny. And has her own thoughts about the world and what kids and adults need to do more.
On September 23, 1997, there was a child was born, actually a little girl named Nadia G. 12 years later, on October 13, 2009, she was interviewed, and when asked about her family she described them as “funny, adventurous, and crazy.!” She lives with her parents and has one little brother, Naid, that looks up to her. She attends school at Henry F. Moss Middle, so far she doesn’t like it and say’s it is very boring... last school she attended was Warren Elementary and she enjoyed her years there.
“Ohh, I just love my eyes,” is what she replied when I asked what she loved about herself. Her favorite food combination is pizza and ranch. She thinks of this world in a negative light because of “global warming”. One thing she would love to try is skydiving, mhmm very brave for a girl her size (she is 4 foot 8!!!). She enjoyed her project in 4th grade when her class made a volcano. She loves the Bosnian language she speaks, and also knows English but yet she would love to speak Japanese, because, “hardly anyone knows how to speak it.” If she could live anywhere else she would live in Australia. Hmm, don’t know why, maybe because of the animals, food, nature, boys perhaps?
Just like everyone else she has pet-peeves. I don’t blame her she hates it when people talk on and on about something, she wishes they would just, “shut up already,” doesn’t everyone?? If adults could do more of something she answered, “let us have more freedom.” If children/ teens could have more of something, her response was, “have less homework,” with a strong voice of security. She would like to get into the field of medicine, nothing specific for now. Also, in her spare time she loves to hang out with friends. Her favorite book of all times is “A Child Called It.” Her way of relaxing is to sleep, sleep and sleep. She can be lazy sometimes, but you would mostly find her outside with family and friends playing around not being boring. So as you can see she loves to have fun, being with friends and family, she has odd interests but it’s that short, big personality that makes her a girl to hang around with. You know as they say, BIG things come from small packages.

Mac-n-ketchup
by Gabbie W.
Matt V.
Matt V. is a quiet, tall, and nice boy born on the day of February 19th, 1997 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green. Matt used to go to Lost River Elementary school but now attends Moss Middle. He thinks school is boring.
Matt would rather be at home reading Harry Potter or listening to Nickel Back. Matt describes his family as normal but he also says he doesn’t respond well to his parents, but what kid does?
Matt says he would like to bungee jump, speak Spanish, and live in France. But right now, in his spare time, he listens to music and gets on the computer.
On the other hand, Matt also thinks about the world in a positive way, he says “we should because we live here.” Well in some ways this could be true but who really knows when it’s coming from someone who likes Mac-n-cheese with ketchup on top? But eating that in public can’t be as bad as spilling Root Beer all over yourself and looking like you went to the bathroom on yourself. (Matt’s most embarrassing moment.) So you see, this is Matt Vance on an average day.

Fries and Ice Cream?
by Dashiell H.
Eldar G.
Fries and ice cream? 12year old Eldar G., a 7th grader at Henry F. Moss Middle School, loves that food combination. Eldar was born in Bosnia, January 3rd, 1997. He originally came from Warren Elementary School. Eldar thinks so far this year, school is nice.
Eldar has a weird habit, he tends to bite his nails and can’t figure out why he does it. In Eldar’s spare time he likes to listen to hip hop and R&B. His favorite book is The Titanic. Eldar’s way of kicking back and relaxing is sleeping. He gets irritated when people tap things around him so if you see him do not tap! His favorite school project ever was in science class that focused on the solar system. The most embarrassing moment for Eldar, was when he was a soccer goalie and did a face plant into the ground.
He describes himself as nice, talented, crazy, and funny. He thinks adults should learn to have a sense of humor. He sees the world positively because “people can be nice to others sometimes.” Eldar’s dream is to sky dive with his friends and to live in Europe. When he grows up, he wants to be an actor. He describes his family as fun and in his spare time he writes rap lyrics!

Skater Dude!
by Baker W.
Brain Y.
Have you ever come face to face with a skateboarder? Brian Y. was born on January 2, 1996 in Michigan and he is a major skater. He’s on a skate team and he claims he is really good. He enjoys listening to alt. rock music and sitting in his hammock. He is an 8th grader at Moss this year and thinks it’s pretty much the same as last year. He has two little brothers that embarrass him in public. He says they pull their pants down at the mall sometimes.
He likes to get into wars with his air soft guns but he says he wants to try paint ball sometime. Something weird that he does is mix corn into his mashed potatoes. Someday he wants to speak French because no one would know what he was saying. His dream job is to be a cartoonist. Some day he says it would be cool to live in Italy. He thinks parents should just leave teens alone and he thinks kids should all just be quiet. One quality about himself is that he thinks he is awesome. His worst habit is that he chews his nails. So next time you see a teenager with a Moss shirt on lying in a hammock next to a skate board, it is probably Brian.

Nashville Girl
by Jacob U.
Mariah C.
Mariah C. was born December 18, 1995 in the heart of country music in Nashville Tennessee. The last school she attended was Oakland Elementary. “I hated it,.” she says. “It’s the worst school ever.” She doesn’t seem to like Moss much either. “This year has been really boring.”
Of course, just like any other person, Mariah has a bad habit, loves weird food combinations, and owns a pet peeve. It sounds like she has been sucking her thumb since she was little. Mariah loves eating mashed potatoes with barbeque and listening to 101.1on the radio. She hates mean people and can’t stand being around them.
Mariah thinks kids today should be more independent and adults should give their kids more freedom. Something she has never tried is skipping school. Mariah wants to be a C.E.O. when she is an adult. Despite her dislike of school, Mariah is an optimistic person who sees the world in a positive light, “because thinking negative takes more energy.”

Key to.... what?

Destiny K.
Destiny K, is she a key to success, a key to boredom or is she just a computer key? Is she weird or cool? Key to…what?
Destiny K was born in Bowling Green, Kentucky on September 29 1997. She enjoys Kentucky and wouldn’t like to leave because she loves her friends. Destiny is currently in the 7th grade at Moss Middle School, she says it is “fun” so far. Last year, she was in Lost River Elementary and liked it there too.
During Destiny’s free time, she enjoys listening to 101.1 the Beat Jams, or also reading her favorite comic books, Shonen Jump. But her favorite pass time is sitting at the computer and playing games, her favorite website is 1 manga.
Her worst habit is chewing on things, and her worst pet peeve is when someone taps on her and keeps saying her name over and over until she answers them. Her most embarrassing time was when her cousin pulled down her pants while at a funeral.
The thing she likes the most about school is building projects because she says it is a very constructive assignment for school. Something she likes most about her elf is her eyes. Her favorite food combination is mashed potatoes and corn mixed together. Those are some of Destiny’s favorites.
Destiny’s hope that kids now a days could have more freedom. She also wishes that adults would calm down a little and act like kids sometimes. Since she felt that way against adults I asked her what she thought about the world today. “I think the world is negative because some people are really mean.”
Destiny does not speak any other language, but says she would like to speak Japanese because it is a cool language. Destiny said that one day she would like to visit Japan.

Stress just isn't his thing- Jacob U.
by Mariah C.
Jacob U.
Going to a new school is nothing for this laid back 7th grader. He’s not a 7th grader who worries or panics about coming to Moss Middle. True to Jacob’s laid back personality, he feels 7th grade will be a breeze.
Arriving from Rockfield Elementary, Jacob thinks school is good so far. He was born December 16, 1996 in Bowling Green, Kentucky. He comes from a somewhat large family having three brothers and three sisters, he being the middle child.
This mellow 7th grader enjoys taking naps, playing baseball, and shooting pool. If you’d rather not annoy Jacob then you shouldn’t eat really noisily. Jacob’s view of the world is very optimistic. He thinks kids today should be able to survive by themselves. When asked, he said he viewed the world in a neutral sense of light.
Jacob’s choice of career is to be a game warden in the sport of hunting. He predicts that he’ll be a good student this year and hopes it will go by steadily. In the future, he’s hopeful he’ll achieve his choice of career and be very successful in it.

Cristina says she likes it so far; she is in seven silver and used to attend Lost River Elementary. Cristina liked it at L.R.E. too. She gets good grades and is a very good student.
Cristina has a bad habit of chewing gum. Her favorite weird food combination is mashed potatoes and macaroni. Her favorite music station is WUHU 107.1. In her spare time, she likes to make Arts and Crafts. Her favorite book is the Twilight series and she feels relaxed while she is sitting on the couch eating a bowl of ice cream. She likes this time because she gets irritated with her sisters. Cristina had a bad time when her granny died.
Cristina plays soccer for Warren Central. She likes to play soccer in her free time too! One thing she likes about herself is her eyes. Cristina thinks that adults should act like kids sometimes. Also, kids should enjoy childhood and not try to act like an adult when they are not even sixteen yet. She likes Earth, she thinks of it as a positive thing because of good education. I guess she means that when you learn more, you get a better job, that helps the community, which in turn helps the earth. She describes herself as nice, tall, and crazy.
One of Cristina’s friends gave her the nickname “soccer legs” and she is okay with it. Cristina would like to try bungee jumping one day because she thinks it would be fun. She also can speak Spanish. Cristina would like to visit Guatemala. She wants to be a pediatrician when she becomes an adult. Her family is very small, only her three sisters, her mother, her step dad, and her grandma.

Skittles with popcorn may seem disgusting to you, but this 12 year-old loves it. Cedric B. is a 7th grader at Moss Middle this year. He LOVES football. Cedrick is linebacker for the Moss dragons.
Cedrick was born on March 13, 1997 in Bowling Green, KY. He loves listening to rap and R&B. his favorite book would have to be Twilight, even though he hates reading. Cedrick is very close to his family, the hardest time in his life was when his grandma died. When he grows up he wants to be an athlete or something like that.
In his spare time he likes to play football and play on the computer. He also talks a lot in class, but he is a good student. His pet-peeve is people chewing with their mouth open. It’s annoying. He only speaks English because all the other languages are too difficult.
Cedrick thinks kids should obey their parents more, but also the parents should stop being so strict. In his future he wants to move to Arizona and travel the world. He thinks of the world in a positive way because there are a lot of good things in the world.

Beach Boy
by Julia G.
Solomona G.
He’s a guy who enjoys playing football, relaxing on the beach and isn’t afraid to make a fool of himself. He’s Solomona G.
Born in Long Beach, California on March 8, 1997, Solomona G. is a true beach boy! He describes his family as big and fun, and that’s true with two sisters and two half brothers!! Before he came to Moss Middle School, he went to Normal Park Museum Magnet in Chattanooga. He remembers one of his most embarrassing moments happened at that school. Once, he was at school on his birthday, and he tripped in the hallway in front of EVERYONE!! Even though he was embarrassed at that school, he says that it’s alright here at Moss. He told me that his favorite school project was when they got to bring leaves to school, and then trace and color them on paper.
If you want to know what bugs Solomona, or what it takes to relax him, this is the place for you! First of all, his pet peeve is when people talk really loud. But when he needs to relax, he enjoys lying on the beach under the sunset. Boy, I wish I could do that everyday! In his spare time, he enjoys playing on the computer and sports, such as basketball and football. He likes the book “City of Ember” and his loves to listen to rock music. He says, “I like that I’m tall.” Solomona told me that he has a bad habit of chewing gum. He says his favorite food is pizza, which seems pretty normal. What’s really weird is that he loves to eat both rice and pizza mixed together! Umm…yum? I asked Solomona, “What’s one thing you would love to do that you’ve never tried?” He replied quickly, “BUNGEE JUMPING!”
Right now, Solomona describes himself as smart, funny, and talented. “What about the future?” I ask him. A career he would enjoy having when he grows up in is an entrepreneur. Other than the United States, he says he would enjoy living in Australia. He doesn’t speak a foreign language, but he said he would like to learn how to speak German. “I took German two years ago, and really liked it. But, then I had to move.” He also says that it would be helpful to learn German because there are many German’s coming to America. Wow. An entrepreneur in Australia who speaks German? That’s a life!! Now, let’s think about the world… “Solomona,” I ask him. “Do you see the world in a positive or negative way?” After some thought, he replied, “I think half and half, because there are some portions of the world that are improving. But, there are some parts that are not.” What do you think about people? “First of all, I think kids today need to eat more veggies! I also think adults today need to be nice!”
Now I hope you have learned a little bit more about ‘Beach Boy’ here. (a.k.a, Solomona G.) You’ll know that you never want to talk loudly around Solomona, but if you want to take him on a beach vacation, go ahead!! See, by reading this paper, I just helped you be aware the dos and don’ts around ‘Beach Boy.’ You’re welcome.

Fries and Frosty
by Summer C.
Sit back, get comfortable and take time to read about this tall, smart, and nice 14 year old boy, whose favorite weird food combination is dipping his fries into his frosty.
Hayden was born in Bowling Green Kentucky on October 17, 1995.The thing he really likes best about himself is that he is tall. For relaxation, he likes to sleep. Nothing better than a day of sleeping to help you relax. Other than sleeping, in Hayden’s spare time he likes to eat and play with friends, sounds fun and sounds like he has a pretty normal life.
The last school besides Moss that he attended was Rockfield Elementary. Hayden says that school so far is okay but of course that’s what almost everybody says about school. When I asked Hayden what his favorite book, was he simply replied “I do not read.” When he was younger, for a school project he had to do a food drive and they made this thing called a Food Drive Train, “It was really cool!” he said.
Hayden speaks nothing but English, but he would really like to speak Spanish. When asked why, he just said, “I don’t really know why.” If there was one other place he could live in it would be Florida. He wants to grow up and be a pro athlete, if that happens, he wants to play football professionally.
If there’s one thing Hayden hates the most it’s staring. When Hayden was told to complete the following sentence, “I think parents these days really need to...” he answered with, “I think parents these days really need to, stop being bossy!!” One thing he has tried and liked really well is white water rafting. Hayden looks at the world in a positive way because there are lots of different good things happening. I asked Hayden to describe his family and the word he went with was “nosey.”
I had a lot of fun doing this interview with Hayden. He’s a really cool person, he can always make you laugh. I hope you can get to know Hayden too.

He thinks children should be more disciplined and that adults should take more time with their children. Zach’s pet peeve is crying. His favorite idea of relaxation is watching TV. He also says his family is chaotic. He thinks of the world in both a positive and a negative way because there are good and bad things that people do in the world.

Monkey Girl
by Jay E.
When I asked Monkey Girl what her favorite food combination was, her eyes lit up big and she replied, “vanilla ice cream and gummy worms.” This girl is a book fanatic. I mean she’s always reading a good book. One her favorite’s is Twilight.
This girl’s name is Sydney D. Born in New Mexico on March the 13 1997, raised in Bowling Green, Kentucky, Sydney is a former Rockfield Raider. She attended Rockfield kindergarten through 6th grade. Sydney told me she had a loving family.
Sydney loves climbing trees. She also likes relaxing by lying in her hammock in her backyard. In her spare time, she enjoys playing with her dog, Kipper. Sydney sees the world in both a positive and negative way, “Because people have positive impacts on the world, people also have a negative impact on the world.” Sydney thinks kids should get out more instead of staying inside all the time. She also thinks adults need to quit being over protective of their children.
Sydney has high expectations of herself! When I asked her if she had plans for the future she got all excited and said she wanted to be rich and successful. How she is going to get there? She wants to be a veterinarian or a horse trainer. She plans on doing this for a long time. She also wants to stay healthy.
Some other things she wants to do when she gets older are to go parasailing. She would also love to speak Italian! Her life long dream is to live in Ireland. Let me tell you how to make this chick mad, her pet peeve is when people have gum and they put it away then after they’re done eating they put it back in their mouth. She can’t stand it when people do this!!!!! So that’s Sydney for you. If you are ever looking for her always remember look in the trees!!

Artist of the Year
by Amber L.
Austin K. of Bowling Green, KY, born and raised, was born September 10, 1996. He previously was enrolled at Rockfield Elementary before becoming a Moss student last year. He says that school is “nice” and its “good stuff” in the most cut and dry voice as possible! He describes himself as skinny, artistic and spontaneous.
Austin admits that his worst habit is forgetting meals! How do you forget a meal? It’s like impossible! He says that he gets so wrapped up in listening, writing and playing music that he just kind of, forgets. He likes to sing and play the guitar. His favorite school project was the one he did last year in first period with Ms. Shuffitt about guitar waves. He talked about how the lower ranges of notes have different waves and frequencies than the higher notes. His favorite band is My Chemical Romance! He loves listening to alternative rock. Even his favorite thing to do to relax is writing, listening and playing music. He says that the best thing about him is his musical ability. Music, music, music…Aghhh!!! This kid’s whole life revolves around the musical world! When he gets older he would like to live in New Jersey because of the history of the music, the music that still lives and his higher chances of a musical career than if he stays here in little old Bowling Green!
He describes his family of three brothers and two sisters as a train wreck. Growing up, Austin lived with his grandparents and never really understood why. When he was old enough to realize why, he was devastated. His parents are separated.
This has influenced him to believe that parents should raise there kids the right way and to be good parents to their kids. In return, kids should 1.) listen to their parents, 2.) go to church and 3.) eat healthy. He also sees the world in a negative way. He says, “There are so many bad things that happen in the world every day. How can you not see it that way?”
Austin also says that the things he hates the most are judgmental people. Don’t you agree? He also says that he doesn’t speak another language but if he could he would speak Spanish. He says that many of his friends speak it in front of him and they talk about him. Wouldn’t you want to know what they were saying too? One thing Austin would love to do when he gets older is bungee jumping. He has heard of how fun it is and he would love to try it.

Your Average Eighth Grade Girl
by Amber L.
Summer C. was born in Bowling Green, Ky on July 12, 1995. She was previously enrolled at Bowling Green Junior High. She says that school here at Moss is ok, but she’d rather be back at Bowling Green.
Her worst habit is biting her nails! I mean, who doesn’t?! Her favorite weird food is eating Peanut Butter and Oreos. BLAH!!! She likes pretty much any kind of music. She loves it all. Her favorite book is Weasel. Great book! She admits that she loves going to the mall with all of her favorite friends. Her pet peeve is when people are sitting right next to her and they talk really loud. Talk about talking your ear off!
Her favorite school project was when she was in the 5th grade and she made Indian Pottery. The hardest time in her life was when her parents got divorced. That’s hard on a kid. On the flip side, the best things that she likes about herself are her eyes and smile. ( :
She says that kids should have more spare time and that adults should, “get loose.” She sees the world in a both negative and positive light because of all the war and how the economy is crashing, but some things are going good. The economy is starting to get a little bit better, but it’s still not where it should be.
She describes herself as funny, blonde and sometimes slow. She doesn’t speak another language, but if she could it would be Spanish. She would really like to live in Arizona. She says that she likes the heat and her cousin lives in Arizona.
When she gets older she wants to go to Western for a degree in photography. She describes her family as, “EHK!!!” In her spare time she likes to text her friends and clean.
